Brent Blackhall, the director of finance at Pacific Carbon Trust, is responsible for all of PCT’s financial management activities including budgeting, internal controls and risk management.
Prior to joining PCT, Brent articled with, and later became a senior manager at, the Auditor General of BC. In his 17 years with the organization, he oversaw the financial audits of many Crown corporations. He also led the development of several key public reports, including a summary of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and guidelines for managing the risk of fraud in government.
Brent earned his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation through the Office of the Auditor General, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Victoria.
A dedicated athlete, Brent has completed five Ironman distance triathlons and numerous other triathlons and marathons. He spends his weekends either training, or unwinding on the tennis court, golf course or ski hill.
